Sessions are all about your needs.
You can count on our sessions being a judgment-free zone. Our relationship will be unique because although I will care deeply about your concerns and struggles, unlike your loved ones, I will not be negatively impacted by anything you share in therapy.
Our time spent together will be ALL about you – literally. In that sense, the patient/therapist relationship is the best of both worlds.
There’s no need to worry about me being a stereotypical therapist. I will never just listen to you while looking sympathetic, nodding, and asking, “How do you feel about that?” Our sessions will be very interactive – you can count on me to give you honest feedback (which sometimes means I’m probably not going to tell you what you wanted to hear).
We will work on helping you achieve new ways of thinking, reacting, and feeling about what is happening in your life.
Improving your life is primary.
My goal is for you to feel powerful and empowered to improve the things in your life that are not currently to your liking. You will learn all the skills you need to be successful in your relationships with family and peers.
There’s one more thing.
In the spirit of “It’s not bragging if it’s true,” helping teens and young adults navigate this stage of their lives and strengthening family bonds and communication ARE my superpowers. Please visit the Patient Testimonials page for insight into my therapeutic approach and treatment results.
About Me
It took multiple career shifts before I realized I was meant to be a therapist. After graduating from college, I returned to my old high school to work as an English and Drama teacher. I loved teaching and my relationship with the students, but the school politics were not for me.
Fast forward a few years, and I found myself working a high-paid job in tech and in therapy to figure out why I did not feel as happy and content as I looked on the outside.
As my therapy progressed, I decided that if I could become a therapist and help just one person half as much as my therapist helped me, my life would be on the right track.
Twenty-four years later, my work with individuals and families still feeds my soul.
